Travelling to Niagara Falls

The largest airport on the Canadian side is Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), which is about 123 km (76 mi) from Niagara Falls, Ontario.  Pearson International is served by all of the major North American and European air carriers

On the U.S. side of the border, Buffalo Niagara International Airport  offers fewer direct flights than Pearson but is only 53 km (33 mi) to Niagara Falls, Canada.

John C. Munro International Airport (YHM) in Hamilton, Ontario is mid-way between Toronto and Niagara Falls and is approximately 100 km (63 mi) to Niagara Falls.

Entry into Canada

The Government of Canada has introduced a new entry requirement, known as an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), that applies to visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to or transiting Canada by air. Among those exempted from this new requirement are U.S. citizens and travellers with a valid visa. For travellers arriving by land (if you fly into Buffalo and drive across border), a valid passport or visa is all that is required.

To see if you need an eTA or to apply for one, visit the Government of Canada’s Electronic Travel Authorization website. An eTA costs $7 CAD and is valid for up to five years.

Please visit the Government of Canada website for entry requirements by country. If you require a Visa letter, please contact Janet Delsey.
